Cyborgs are things of tension and intrigue. They are the work of fiction, living in between the social and technological, part human and machine. We too are cyborgs, living in the subtle shading of our narrative fictions, between the social and technological, part human and part machine.
I have begun to think more clearly about the famous bobo doll studies because it occurred to me the kinds of assumptions involved. Primarily this is a study on play/games. It teaches kids how the play a game, but not much else.
A revolution aims at bringing about fundamental changes in institutions by employing illegal tactics. What is legal and what a society will tolerate are distinct. When there is sympathy for ends, illegal means may become acceptable and the laws against them unenforceable.
